Subway Series

I.)
SUNLIGHT BEGAN DANCING WITH THE FULLEST OF HIPS
Hollow sounds of the tunnel, broke
through glass-shattering loud, squeel and
screech, braking noises. Train is now
pulling into downtown’s Whitehall
Station. She stands with her. One hand
holding hers, the other — straphang-
ing. Movements more fluid than, dime-
a-dance girls, back in the Twenties;
hollow sounds of…
conductor, alerts train is trapped
between, Dekalb & Union. Fa-
ces become trapped in anger, un-
til the train began to move. Af-
ter an hour, eyes open, in-
to booby traps; unwittingly
hollow sounds of…

II.)
AS THE GIRL SITTING ACROSS FROM HIM LOOKS ON

Dude becomes lost in his I
Pad. He’s slowly dancing
a hole into his seat on the sub
way train. An elderly
man & young white girl stare, blankly into
empty newspapers. Trapped
under a green hood, another
truant youngster, just hap-
pens to fall asleep, inside the balls
of his own left handed
fist. Folks dance their way onto the train
as, folks dance their way off it.

III.)
TRITINA: AROUND THE WORLD IN A METROCARD

White dingy tile on subway walls are covered
in graffiti. Trapped on the same train since 125th
he, can’t believe just how many girl’s, actually ride
this train every morning. Face in newspaper riding
back to Brooklyn, he notices how black lines, cover
over the white background. Subway doors open and 125th
seems a world away. Canal Street station crowded like 125th.
Coca Cola ad on a billboard, distracts his attention. Riding
next to him–a baby in a carriage falls asleep; she’s covered
in blanket’s; covered in tired. He loves 125th; but hates long rides.
