Issue Seven: Contributors

Elena Alhimovich, originally from Belarus, is a London based photographer and blogger who works predominantly in portraiture. Her work has featured in Vogue and the Guardian. Since beginning photography as a hobby four years ago she has worked on a number of personal and commercial projects. Her professional portfolio can be found here. Justin Bond‘s work has appeared in print and online in publications including This Land Press, CURA: A Literary Magazine of Art & Action, SOFTBLOW, and is forthcoming from NAP.  He lives and works in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Sarah Dobbs is a lecturer in English and Creative Writing. Her novel, Killing Daniel, was published by Unthank Books on September 1st. She is also co-founder of Creative Writing the Artist’s Way. John M. Edwards has traveled worldwidely (five continents plus), with stunts ranging from surviving a ferry sinking off Siam, to being stuck in a military coup in Fiji, to bussing Vietnam on a Larium buzz. After graduating from Tulane University, he worked as an editor at Pocket Books and as a copy editor at Emerging Markets, covering world development bank meetings abroad. His work has appeared in Amazon.com, CNN Traveller, Missouri Review, Salon.com, Condé Nast Traveler and North American Review amongst many others. He is the recipient of a NATJA (North American Travel Journalists Association) Award.  He is editor-in-chief of the upcoming annual Rotten Vacations. He turned down a job as lead bassist for STP (The Stone Temple Pilots) way back when before they were big. Plus, he helped write “PLUSH” (the opening chords), voted The Best Song of the 20th Century by Rolling Stone Magazine. He lives in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

Nidhi Zakaria Eipe grew up writing her way through the Middle East, South Asia, North America and Western Europe. Her essays and features have appeared in such places as T Qatar: The New York Times Style Magazine, TED, REORIENT, Dissident Voice and Culture Unplugged. Her short fiction and poetry is published/forthcoming in diverse literary journals including B O D Y, Acorn and the Foreign Encounters Anthology.

Donna Kaz is a poet, playwright and lyricist whose work has been seen at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, The York Theatre, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. She has been published in Lilith, Turning Wheel and the Women’s Studies Quarterly. She is the recipient of residency fellowships from Yaddo, Djerassi, The Blue Mountain Center and The Ucross Foundation and has been a featured writer at the Pulse Poetry Slam, Carpo, Uncle Mo’s and Wordstock. She is currently an MFA candidate at Queens University of Charlotte.

Noah Kucij‘s poems and essays have appeared in The Cortland Review, Slow Trains, LOST Magazine, and in two collections from Toadlily Press. He teaches at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.

Nicky Marsh lives in (and regularly roams the streets of) suburban London. Her work has appeared in such places as Structo, scissors and spackle, and kill author. Her blog can be found here.

Emily Paskevics is currently a graduate student at McGill University in Montreal. Her most recent poetry publications include Ascent Aspirations, The Claremont Review, Read This!, Shorthand (via Toronto’s Diaspora Dialogues), Carte Blanche (via the Quebec Writers’ Federation), Voices (through the University of Toronto), and Black Heart Magazine. She has also collaborated with McGill’s “Poetry in Performance” project, and is a recent fellowship recipient for the Summer Literary Seminars International 2012.

Nancy Scott is the author of five books of poetry and managing editor of U.S.1 Worksheets, the journal of the U.S.1 Poets’ Cooperative in New Jersey. Her most recent book, On Location (March Street Press, 2011) is a collection of ekphrastic poems dedicated to her Russian grandfather. Her poetry has appeared recently in Slant, The BluePrint Journal, Rufous Salon, Pemmican, and qarrtsiluni. Her website can be found here.

Murzban F. Shroff is a fiction writer from Mumbai. He has published fiction with over thirty-five journals in the U.S. and UK. Three of his stories have won a Pushcart Prize nomination; one has been the recipient of the John Gilgun Fiction Award for the Best Submission of the Year. His debut fiction collection, Breathless in Bombay, published by St. Martin’s Press and Picador India, was shortlisted for the 2009 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize in the best debut category from Europe and South Asia. Recently, it featured fourth in the Guardian listing of Top Ten Mumbai books.

Philip Tinkler was born in the bucolic north of England. He has been published in places such as the Mad Hatters’ Review, The Medulla Review, Montreal Serai, Skive Magazine, Red Fez, Word Riot, Full of Crow, Gutter Eloquence, and Six Sentences. More ramblings can be found here.
